Today’s Tasks

Working on an enormous pile of outlines. (yey!) Days like these really get my creative juices pumping. However, energy tends to wane after the 3rd or 4th go. In need of copious amount of coffee!! oh wait…I don’t drink coffee anymore (headaches- a slight allergic reaction due to over-consumption in college). Ginseng then, and a steamy mug of Chai ; (tastes like Christmas)!

They say we are due a bit of snow any day now. Winter is officially on her way. Let’s all smile so we freeze in avid joy.

Blissfully, the writer writes.

Unsolicited Offers Rolling In!

This week I am beginning work on a three part Copy writing job. Plus! I was offered an interview for some very intense fiction (ongoing 6-month project). Both publishers randomly appeared at my doorstep (inbox) . The freelance gods are finally shining down on me! I must have done something right.

Now I just need a few fun little ditties to round out the schedule. I love this Job !

Big Changes!

1. On July 31, at 10:51pm I gave birth to my precious little miracle. Landyn weighed 7 pounds 10 ounces at 20 inches long. He is growing like a weed, and manages to blow mind just about everyday. This cutie was inside me that whole time?

2. I’m still writing at helium, yet to say that I am less than impressed with the change of ownership would be an understatement and I am not alone. I do not want to jump ship- I still  love the community but I need to find a better means for supporting #1 because the earnings potential just isn’t there anymore.

3. I am starting a pregnancy and baby care blog  to utilize my new-found knowledge, passion, and writings I had saved for helium but do not want to waste. Plus potential links to related articles I have already published. So please feel welcome to join me over at  Peaceful Pregnancy and Beyond. Settling In

We are finally settled in to our new home. Every inch has been scrubbed clean, boxes are unpacked, and the baby furniture has been assembled. Life is feeling cozy, peaceful, and calm. I’m not due for another six or seven weeks, providing the perfect opportunity for some quality writing.

After a short reprieve I am continuing a partnership with the local newspaper. Being a small company, the pay isn’t great but it is definitely fun to see some of my words in print. The challenge ensues – as always they are starving for good reporting, while drowning in columnists. Fitting better in the columnist category myself, producing quality, professional reporting pieces requires a good stretch. Let’s just hope my arms are long enough to reach.

Also working on some stock content and marketplace assignments with helium. As always- looking for a fun writing project to dive into- holler if you have one.

All About Helium.

I used to write for helium on a regular basis. By regular I mean I checked the marketplace everyday, cyber stalked the status of my articles, rated compulsively, moonlighted in the how-to zones, and otherwise obsessed over scoring every assignment possible while making my  stock articles their very best. Since last summer however, a lot has been going on in my life. Too much maybe. Car accident -ouch. Baby on the way (foggy pregnancy brain blah). My participation has been spotty to say the least.

That is why I am officially dedicating some time to getting back into the groove. Though always open to other projects since I have none that are particularly pressing at the moment. So why not steal some time to once again join the race. Things have changed a little in my absence but I accept the challenge.

(Let’s just hope I can stay focused and also get our belongings packed up and ready for the “big” move Friday).

My progress so far? One rating star raised to a teetering four. Three articles chosen for upfronts- One big one pending in the marketplace. Feel free to take a read of my recent contributions (current inspiration goes without saying).
